QUALIFYING FOR GI BILL®
- Post 9/11 GI Bill® pays nearly 100% of all pilot training expenses when veterans enroll in state college programs
- No annual limit on flight expenses paid
- Does NOT include private pilot certificate
- Paid expenses include FAA minimum flight time, instructor fees, tuition, books and supplies. Housing allowance also included. Paid expenses do not include FAA medical examination ($150) or FAA Practical Test Fees ($700 per Practical Test) or FAA Knowledge Tests ($150 each). Additional flight fees over total college course fees subject to reimbursement and require successful completion of the course.
- Veterans needing only a limited amount of pilot training may directly attend Sunrise Aviation and receive a reimbursement up to $10,000 each year
- All classes and flying conducted at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville
- Two year degree program may be completed in 20 months by attending summer semester
- Graduates receive an Associate of Science degree in Professional Pilot Technology and may continue in a four year degree at FSCJ or transfer to another college to complete B.S. degree
- Sunrise Aviation hires FSCJ graduates as flight instructors. Starting wage: $25 per hour.
- Sunrise Aviation has a bridge program with GoJet Airlines for hiring First Officers
- GoJet and other regional airlines hire Sunrise Aviation flight instructors who meet Airline Transport Pilot minimums
